Signing Ceremony | MICNIS | MOU between MIC Nepal and GCI

      June 3, 2016June 3, 2016
Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) Nepal takes pride in working with schools and colleges across Nepal in providing world class resources for our students, teachers and organization as a whole. Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) Nepal takes great pleasure in partnering with academic institutions across Nepal. For the past eight years now, MIC Nepal has in a number of ways been able to engage IT and engineering students, faculty members, customers and other stake holders in its various awareness and skill building programs, campaigns and projects. These programs ranges from Microsoft DreamSpark Premium --- a global program that ensures free and friction free access to hundreds of Microsoft software products and development tools including Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Visual Studio 2015, XNA Game Studio, etc. to STEM-D University going students to life changing programs such as Microsoft BizSpark that helps young student entrepreneurs to incubate their genuine business ideas, monetize them and eventually realize their dreams. This is our second year that we are partnering with schools and higher scondary schools (+2). In this process, Innovative Student Partners (ISP), who will be our ambassadors in various schools/colleges will be the real driving force as they are the technology rock stars who learn about various cutting edge Microsoft technologies and share the knowledge back with their student community in their colleges thru blogs, technical forms and community events. Today, MIC Nepal is seeking to establish Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal Innovative School (MICNIS), a formal working relationship with the best Schools and +2 colleges spread across Nepal (KATHMANDU VALLY IN THE FIRST PHASE) in a vision to provide better technology interventions that the students of 21st century need to be successful in their lives. The education fair is a joint venture of Higher Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN) and Kantipur Publications. The expo aims to promote educational institutions in Nepal. Kunal Shrestha, Executive Manager at Kantipur Publications, said, “There’s a new synergy with the partnership and can be a good contribution to the education system.” He further said that the fair would be a good way to gain students’ insights into what they’re seeking in an educational institution.

Yubraj Sharma, Chairperson of the fair, pointed out that the difference in the fair was because of the involvement of the private sectors. Sharma said that it was a coming together of private institutions and more than financial competition, this fair would bring out the cooperativeness of the private institutions. “This is also an opportunity to show that what the private intuitions are doing and what they have to offer,” he said. The fair is set to have 70 stalls and is targeting 200,000 visitors. Kantipur HISSAN Edu Fair 2016 will be held on May 19-22 (6-9 Jestha), 2016
