Update from Cambridge International on May/June 2020 exams

The situation with the Covid-19 outbreak is changing rapidly. In recent days, many more countries have decided to extend school closures into May and June, making it impossible for many of our schools to hold examinations.

We have been consulting closely with our global community of schools, who need as much certainty as possible at an uncertain time. Our priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of our students and teachers, ensure fairness for all our students and support them in continuing with their education.

Today, therefore, we have taken the difficult decision not to run our international examinations in the May/June 2020 series in any country. This includes Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level, Cambridge International AS & A Level, Cambridge AICE Diploma and Cambridge Pre-U.

We recognise that students have been working very hard towards these exams. We will be working with schools to assess students’ achievements using the best available evidence. Students will receive a grade and a certificate from Cambridge International, given the knowledge and skills they have acquired in their programmes of study. This will ensure students do not face disadvantage as a result of these extraordinary circumstances.

We will provide guidance to schools on how students will receive those grades. We are talking to universities worldwide, and they are factoring these unprecedented circumstances into admissions decisions, so students can continue with their education journeys as soon as possible.

We are also aware of the impact the situation may have on student motivation and learning. Many of our schools are working hard to deliver teaching online to support their students’ learning. We will continue to offer a wide range of support and resources for schools, teachers and students on our dedicated pages on our website at www.cambridgeinternational.org

We will provide an update for schools on Thursday 26 March and as regularly as possible. We know that schools will need clear guidance very soon, and we are working around the clock on how to deliver valuable outcomes to students in the many countries where we work.


Orientation Programme 2019, A-Level, Batch: 2019-2021

A-Level Program Office has scheduled Orientation Programme for the recent admitted batch of 2019-2021 on July 12, 2019 at Gokarna Forest Resort.
Schedule Details as
Reporting Time: 7 AM at GCI premises, Baneshwor
Departure Time: 7:30 AM from GCI
High Tea: 8:15 AM at Gokarna Forest Resort
Formal Programme begins: 9 AM
Ends: 1:30 PM followed by LUNCH and Refreshments
Departure: 3 PM

Induction Session 2019, GCE A-Level from June 4

A-Level Program Office has scheduled a 5 Day Induction Session from June 4, 2019 at Global College premises.

Roy Andersen(Author, Trainer), Malvika Subba, Former Miss Nepal, and Sohan Babu Khatri, CEO, Three H Mgmt. House is going to be the resource person for this session.

Mr. Surendra Raj Joshi (Program Coordinator, A-Level) along with Mr. Reshav Dev Khanal (Academic Supervisor) will introduce the program to our students. And the session will continue till June 13, 2019.

Faculty Orientation cum Meeting of GCI

Faculty Orientation cum Meeting of GCI was successfully conducted on June 1 in the presence of Prof. Dr. Prem R. Pant, Dr. Khagendra Ojha and Dr. Karan Singh Thagunna.
Prof. Pant, as Chairman of the College Academic Committee, congratulate GCI for launching its courses in management at undergraduate and graduate levels with new orientation and innovative approaches and expressed his good wishes that the college becomes a state of the art institute and the center of excellence.
Dr. Khagendra Ojha, College Chairman, shared the organizational structure of GCI as business and management specialized research-oriented academic temple of learning. He also congratulated the faculty members of all the academic programs in making the right choice, requesting them in joining hands to make a better future for them and the entire human society.
Principal, Dr. Karan Singh Thagunna, promises on behalf of the well-dedicated academic and professional faculty and staff deputed to grooming all the incumbent into an able human recourse; equipped with sound career skills and business leadership aptitudes and advised to follow his E2O policy of Efficiency, Effort, and Output.
Program Directors, Coordinator, Officers including Faculty members interacted with the college management on major topics like research-oriented education, relationships with the university, curriculum design and implementation and so on, especially for bachelor programs (BBA / BHM / BTTM) including A-Level education.
Administration / IT supported the event with logistics and venue setup.

Farewell Programme for 7th Batch at Hotel Soaltee Crown Plaza on Friday

Global College International (GCI) organized a farewell programme for 7th Batch at Hotel Soaltee Crown Plaza on Friday, April 5, 2019.
The programme was started at around 10 am and continued for about three hours. Dr. Khagendra Prasad Ojha, the chairperson of the college had chaired the programme. In his address, he had shared some of the true meaning of study and learning. Dr. Tshering Lama, a country director, of childreach for Nepal, had been a chief guest of the programme. He had shared the success story of his life that started from a remote village of Nepal to the University of England with a doctorate degree and to become a dynamic personality.
Dr. Karan Singh Thagunna, the Principal had addressed to the outgoing students. He had highlighted the social value of education for every individual. There were directors, coordinators, faculties present in the programme. The AS students had organized the cultural programme which was the most attractive part of the occasion. On occasion, all the students were awarded certificates and medals. Some of the students were awarded for outstanding performances in different categories throughout the year.
